Sapphire

 

Sapphire is the material of choice for durable Electro-optical / Infrared windows.  It is the hardest oxide crystal with excellent transparency and thermal properties. It has excellent transmitting property across visible and mid-infrared waveband (1.5um to 6um). Chemically inert and insoluble in almost everything, it is a superior material for scratch resistant windows.

We grow Sapphire crystal up to the size of 180x180mm. Chemically, sapphire is single crystal aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) and it transmits wavelengths ranging from UV to Mid-Infrared.

Sapphire Laser Contact Tip

Sapphire tips are widely used as contact tips for various surgical laser applications.  It has a good transmission at 0.4—5.5 microns.   Sapphire contact tips can be naturally cooled.  It is a perfect choice for cosmetic and dental laser application.
